Lots of Bunnies!

Yesterday morning some friends of mine and I gathered up our sewing machines and got into the Easter spirit and made 13 adorable bunnies for Easter basket donations. Our church is donating the baskets to children undergoing post-traumatic stress therapy at our local Alternatives to Violence center. We had a lot of fun making these little guys and they turned out just so cute! These bunnies are going to help fill the Easter baskets along with some other small gifts and of course some Easter candy. I love that we were able to add a handmade touch to the baskets. I hope the kids love them!

A special thank you to Hilary Lang of Wee Wonderfuls for her wonderful free pattern that made our gift to these kids that much more special.

Winter is Officially Over!

Hello! Just in case anyone is still listening! I am thrilled that Spring is finally here! Though ironically yesterday we had 70 degree weather and today looks like a cold front is moving through. Oh well, I feel the change coming soon :). I've been MiA for a while and thought I'd show you what I've been up to (or some of it anyway). This past month I've been doing quite a bit of volunteer design work for my church (blueskychurch.com). I haven't really designed anything to speak of since I graduated in 2007 so after a nearly two year break it was nice to design a bit again. Our church is forming a new ministry to partner with and meet the needs of local non-profits. I'm quite excited about the opportunities that will open for our church to serve our community. This brochure (tri-fold) provides the basic information of the new ministry. The poster is some of the promotion for the upcoming Easter event our Children's Ministry is putting on. It's going to be a really fun evening and we're hoping to bring in some new young families through this event. I've been pretty busy with design work and my children and my sewing machine, sadly, has not been touched since the completion of the doorstop. I plan to dust it off and get the needle running again this weekend. I've got two projects lined up for myself (an apron and new mom bag!) and a couple for the kids for their Easter baskets. I better get busy because Easter will be here before I know it!
