Operation Christmas Child boxes complete!

My shoe boxes for OCC are wrapped and filled ready to take to church this weekend. I had so much fun making gifts and finding fun little things for these. In addition to the totes I made bunnies. One with a flower, as you've seen before, and one a fully accessorized pirate complete with eye patch, belt, and red and white polka dots. I have to say I really like how the pirate bunny turned out. I think I'll definitely be needing to make one of these guys for my little guy. All the other goodies I found at Target, mostly in the fabulous dollar section. I hope the kids that receive these are as excited to get them as I am to give them.

Operation Christmas Child

Our church is participating in Operation Christmas Child. I really love making gifts for kids and thought this would be a really fun opportunity to gift something special and handmade and hopefully make a child's Christmas a special one, that may have had to miss out otherwise. With our new arrival ready to make in appearance in about four weeks I figured I better get started :). I'm going to fill a box for a boy and a girl. Here's what I've gotten done so far and am planning on making them each a bunny, and then filling it with some other small goodies as well. The tote bags are kid sized and made with IKEA canvas. I boxed the corners a bit and added a fun detail to each to spruce them up a bit, a ribbon on the girl's and a felt bulldog pin on the boys. I love how the bulldog came out. More tote bags with felt applique pins are definitely in my future, a new favorite kid's gift.

Smile.

Just wanted to shed the spotlight on my sister in this post. She just finished her debut album! A collection of jazz classics. She's got an amazing story and an amazing voice. If you enjoy jazz go take a listen. Plus the design of her album turned out pretty sweet, done by yours truly along side my talented husband. Check it out!
