I realize this post is late, my daughter's birthday was three days prior to Christmas and 2010 is already in full swing, but our newest member of the family has just hit two months and I'm just now feeling like I'm getting the into the swing of things. That being said I continue with my post...
My daughter is a tad horse crazed. She is constantly pretending that she is a wild stallion and gallops more than she walks. So for her birthday I created the perfect accessory for my little stallion—a horse tail. Now she can gallop through the house with a proper tail, she's got all the sound effects down :). She loves it and it turned out quite well despite the fact I completely made it up as I went. I used fleece for the waist band. It connects with a velcro strip and has some elastic in the back for a snug fit. The tail I cut from faux fur in a curved pony tail shape. The tail lops from side to side a bit but other than that stays in place during many laps of running and jumping around. I can't believe that my beautiful girl is four! I'm so proud of how much she's grown-up in the last couple of months. She's a wonderful big sister and is never short on spunk. She adds adventure and joy to my life and inspires me to be creative. I can't wait to experience what each new year holds for her. Happy Birthday to my Olivia! Happy galloping!
